
Half and Half is known by all to be used predominately in your morning coffees, and is quite handy to be used other thigs as well. It is not as heavy as cream but is
more rounded than plain regular milk. It
can last for quite a while in
the refrigerator.
Do you know what else you can use half and half in?
Let me tell you….
1.) Chocolate Ganache. You can definitely make this yummy ganache with half and half. Follow this method of making ganache (which incorporates heavy cream insetad) or the following one… throw some chocolate chips in a double boiler. As they start to melt, add half and half, a little at a time, and whisk until the chocolate is melted and you have the consistency you want. (If this ganache is used on ice cream make it thinner and thicker for brownies or a cake).
2.) Ice Cream. You can incorporate half and half in the making of this delicious smooth dessert. It may not be as rich as usual but will definitely still do its job.
3.) Pasta sauce or pan sauce. When you are done pan-frying your meat for the night, deglaze the pan and pour a little half and half in it to make a sauce. For pasta, a thicker sauce is so yummy it will enhance your flavors.
4.) Creamy Scrambled eggs. Add a few tablespoons to your cracked eggs and throw a little cheese over the stove top and enjoy soft and fluffy
eggs…. Yummy!
5.) Cocktails. A White Russian can be good with some half and half and ice… try this as a happy hour cocktail.
