I’m feeling a little emotional today. It’s my oldest’s birthday. That’s right Julian is 13 today. I can officially say I have a TEENAGER!!!!
Where did the time go??? I know I just had to say it. I think I’m still a little in shock. You see in the past year so many changes have happened that it still has my head spinning. First of all we added an addition to our family Jacob, our youngest, who is 16 months, Kayla is in double digits now, the BIG 10, and then we turn to Juju… my Pumpkin… my first born.
In the past year this little boy has completed skyrocketed past me. There was a time when he was smaller than me or right at the edge. I mean I know I’m not the tallest of the bunch, with my 5 ft 2 inch self, but come on…. this boy sprouted like a weed and is now practically 5 ft 11 inches. I know!
I find myself just staring at him–watching him, wondering what he’s thinking. You know boys, they get to the point in their life where they think they know everything and that there mom is just annoying… I guess and that they have selective hearing.
For all those mom and dads who know that I’m talking please raise your hand!!!!
YEP! You all know what I’m talking about… Read the rest of this entry »
What is it about french toast sticks that make you feel like a kid again? Maybe it’s the dunking part… I don’t know why it is exactly, but all I know is that when I make these crunchy sweet, full of cinnamon sugar french toast sticks I feel like I’m eight years old again when my mom would warm up those frozen french toasts sticks we would buy in the supermarket.
These Cinnamon Sugar French Toast Sticks are one of my daughter’s favorite breakfast treats. Just imagine thick slices of Texas toast dipped in an vanilla-sugar egg mixture, then pan fried until crisp and caramelized, but still keeping the inside soft and fluffy.
After cooking they are immediately tossed in cinnamon and sugar while they are still hot. French toast sticks that melt in your mouth really!!!! Read the rest of this entry »
Now I know that we are knee deep in summer weather, the sun is blazing, the humidity is off the rocket with no sign of cooling down happening anytime soon. Sometimes we just need comfort food to warm our soul.
That’s how I feel when I make risotto. The creaminess of this dish is the perfect way to add comfort to any long stressful day. I remember the first time I ever tried risotto. It was at a little restaurant in Miami called Grazie and we would go special occasions. The food is so delicious just thinking about it makes my stomach start to grumble. My dad had ordered their Seafood Risotto… let’s just say the moment they brought the dish to the table the smell of that dish was out of this world. I think I jumped into the plate before my dad had a chance to. From then on it has been my absolute favorite dish to order and make at home.
I think so many are scared to make risotto because of the amount of time it takes to make and it requires you to have patience. Funny, thing… I’m really not a patient person but in the kitchen cooking I am… weird huh! 🙂 Read the rest of this entry »

Well, they are just Oreos® + chocolate bar + a big marshmallow = YUMMINESS!!!
I have never been a huge fan of smores… I mean I like them and I love chocolate but I have to really be in the mood for them. Now Oreos®, that’s a completely different story. I’m a nut for Oreos®!
My kids they absolutely LOVE smores. I actually don’t believe there is a dessert that they wouldn’t eat… HA! They get that from their momma 🙂
Every year if your like my husband and children you wait impatiently for the month of February to roll by because of one thing and one thing only… GIRL SCOUT COOKIE SEASON!!!!
I mean its every where you turn little adorable girl scouts asking you to buy some scumpdiliumptious cookies that you know you can only once a year. I mean I know people who buy tons of boxes and store them in their freezer so they can have them for later in the year.
It’s crazy! 🙂 But a GREAT crazy!!!!
Do you think if you wrap anything in bacon it would taste good???
I think so… I mean who doesn’t love tater tots? Brown sugar? and bacon???
These little bite size appetizers are so addicting once you pop one in your mouth 5 minutes later you will see half the bowl finished.
All it is are tater tots wrapped with a small piece of cheese, then wrapped in BACON and rolled in brown sugar…. YUM! Read the rest of this entry »
As I sit here after having two weeks off of work, spending time with my kiddies and just taking 2014 all in I realize that each and every year I make such a huge deal with resolutions and what I need to change or fix.
You all know what I mean, “I need to lose weight, I need to be more active, I need to make more money, I nee to spend more time with my family, I want to strengthen my faith…” the list is pretty endless actually.
Today in church one of our pastors spoke about how a “New Year” so many want a “New You”. One of the most important things we fail to realize is that it’s not a New You we should be worrying about… We should really want to better ourselves not change who we are. Allow yourself to leave all the baggage, pain, whatever you felt was holding you down or back in 2014 and look ahead to 2015 to being reborn.
One of the passages that was shared this morning was:
” Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17
To 2015, may it be filled with laughter, love & life!
It’s a brand new year, so many fun and exciting things are ahead. Trying to remember to cherish every moment with my kids because they are getting too big too fast!
Wishing your family a very Happy New Year! Thank you for taking time out of your day each week to read ThatsSoYummy. I can’t wait to share so much more with you all this year!

Ahhhhhh, the weather is finally changing around these parts, I mean when you finally get a chance to bust out your boots and jacket you know its a good day in Florida. I am so ready for the weather change and for it finally feel like fall… I mean Thanksgiving is just around the corner for pete’s sakes.
On of my most favorite things to do when it starts to get chilly is cuddle up on the couch, my scented candles lit, with a good book and hot chocolate… Mmmm hot chocolate. You all know how comforting it is to cuddle with a warm blanket, (sigh)! Since we are on the topic of things that comfort our hearts, Food plays such a big role in that. Marie Callendar’s has definitely been one to strive for always providing comfort to all with their different selections of high-quality and delicious frozen meals.
