I want to discuss how yum and delicious truffles can really be.  I never realized how easy they were to make until I decided to make some for the holidays.  I rolled mine in a few different things like, crushed candy canes, chopped pecan pieces and good ol fashion cocoa powder.  Let’s just say that before I even started rolling these babies into truffle balls I was having a hard enough time not eating the entire chocolate cream cheese mixture… It was that good!

 

These truffles would make a great addition for any teacher holiday gifts this week, which by the way will be combined with Homemade Hot Chocolate!

Chocolate Cream Cheese Truffles

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 2 hours

Yield: 12 truffles

Chocolate Cream Cheese Truffles

An insanely decadent chocolate truffle recipe made with chocolate and cream cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cup Confectioners’ Sugar
  • 4 ounces Cream Cheese, slightly softened
  • 2 ounces Unsweetened Chocolate, melted
  • Rolling Decor:
  • Cocoa Powder
  • Crushed Candy Canes
  • Pecan Pieces

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, beat together cream cheese and sugar.
  2. Add melted chocolate. Beat until well combined.
  3. Let chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  4. Using your fingers, roll the mixture into small balls (about 3/4-inch in diameter). Sprinkle about 1/3 cup of cocoa in a bowl, crushed candy canes, and/or pecan pieces in a bowl as well.
  5. Gently roll the truffles to coat. Chill in refrigerator again until ready to serve.
