Is there a specific food you just go to for comfort?

You know, a food that even on your toughest days, like being stuck at work and just wanting to go home, bad weather, feeling under the weather, or last fighting with your bestest friend.

The kind of food that the smell alone puts a smile on your face.

Do you run to a food for comfort?

Some may feel that a big bowl of chicken soup brings them comfort, or maybe a grilled cheese sandwich does it for them.

For me  there’s TWO, a great big bowl of Over-the-Rainbow Macaroni and Cheese.   Yummmmmm-OOOOOOOOOO!

Second is my all time favorite, ice cream!  Oh, I’m such a sucker for some ice cream.

(Speaking of which let me go get some right now while I’m thinking about it …. ssshhhhh!)

I find as I get older no matter what the age is sometimes a little comfort is always needed.

Who doesn’t love icecream.

I know me and especially my children are suckers when it comes to ice cream.  So when I heard this I just had to tell all of you my favorites, that today is our lucky day.  

Tonight between 5p.m. to 8p.m. Coldstone will be giving all who stop by and are willing to donate any amount of change for the Make-A-Wish will receive 3 oz sample of Jack’s Creation, an ice cream sundae with brownies, rainbow sprinkles, and caramel.

So make sure to stop by at a location near you, lucky me there is one down the block of where I live…. YAY!!!!!

In celebration of gay marriages in the state of Vermont, Ben & Jerry’s announced the changing of their iconic flavor Chubby Hubby to “Hubby Hubby.”  

With the launch of ‘Hubby Hubby’, Ben & Jerry’s is partnering with Freedom to Marry to raise awareness about why marriage equality matters and encourage nationwide support for the freedom to marry.

While Ben & Jerry’s does not plan on changing the labels on “Chubby Hubby” pints sold in stores already, due to the length of  changing product labels takes 18 months, The creamery’s six in-state ice cream parlors will sell the limited-edition “Hubby Hubby” sundaes during the month of September.

Do you think you may know the difference between vanilla and vanilla flavored ice cream?

Well last time I checked vanilla tasted like plain old vanilla… right? Well apparently not!

Here is a little insight into what Real Vanilla Ice Cream is.

• Vanilla: This is made from pure Madagascar vanilla beans. 

• Vanilla flavored: Means that vanilla only contains up to 50 percent artificial vanilla. 

• Vanilla beans: Includes specks of vanilla bean that intensifies the flavor and enhances the ice cream appearance. 

• French vanilla: This ice cram must contain at least 1.4 percent egg yolk, more than most vanillas. By this the ice cream will have a distinct yellow color and a custardlike taste.

• Double vanilla: Made with twice as much vanilla as the original.

• Slow churned or double churned: This special processing results in a smooth, rich, creamy texture.
