Lean Cuisine

A few years ago when we lived in Atlanta there was a time when I would go to the store and get fast and easy meals to eat for lunch to take to work.  Yep… I didn’t always cook meals back then like I do now.  Quick and easy was the way to go for me back then, especially working a 8 to 5 job everyday.  It was hard.  Buying lunch everyday can get pretty expensive after a while and I always wanted to make some healthy choices during lunch anyways, that’s why Lean Cuisine would always be my go to option.

You see now a days, I cook all the time so buying frozen fixes really isn’t on my list of grocery items.  However when I was asked by DailyBuzz to review Lean Cuisine’s Chef Pick” Culinary Collection,” I got excited and was taken down memory lane.  These new line of dishes have been created to take Lean Cuisine meals to another level.

According to Lean Cuisine, “The chefs of our Culinary Roundtable are embracing the bolder colors and tastes of the season, creating recipes with exciting flavors for our Culinary Collection. Taste their daring flavor combinations in our Chef’s Pick creations—chef-inspired dishes that are as inventive as they are delicious.”

I chose to review Lean Cuisine’s “Steak Tips Portabello” and the “Orange Chicken.”

Let’s start with the Steak Tips Portabello…

Steak Tips Portabello

This dish was quite tasty.  The steak was quite tender and the sauce tasty.  I loved the addition of broccoli with the steak.  It was light and not heavy but satisfying.  The nutritional facts are 4 grams of fat, 15 grams of protein, and only 150 calories.

The second dish, Orange Chicken…

Orange Chicken

This dish was tasty and had a mix of textures.  I really liked the sliced almonds mixed with the rice.  The nutritional facts are 8 grams of fat, 14 grams of protein, and only 310 calories.

I love how each of the two take only 5 minutes to make and ease of it.  My favorite dish out of these two though I would have to say was the Steak Tips Portabello.
